VOX 91

Privatly Owned Not for Hire

The Story

A common sight at British Railway goods yards were these Scammell Scarabs (sometimes known as “mechanical horse”) and these wonderful machines became the backbone of Railway yard work due to their size and maneuverability. VOX 91 was such a vehicle dating from 1957 and is preserved in typical British Railways livery of its time. It is privately owned and makes a welcome addition to the Museum display.
